Nicolette met Aidas in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. He was an incredible tour guide, showing the entire family what a great city it is.

The Old Town is one of the biggest and nicest in Europe. There is a lot of valuable history and cultural heritage. This area also has all the European architectural styles interlaced.

Lithuania is small but has an enormous amount of clean and unpolluted lakes, beautiful rivers and streams.

The food is delicious and the restaurants are quaint. Traditional dishes are made from potatoes. Their diet is extremely healthy, making for a fit and slender population.

Beer is brewed with natural ingredients. The recommendation would be “ Svytury’s”, easily found here in the US. Also recommended is “Gira”, which is non-alcoholic and made from yeast. In the cafes and bars, an appetizer of “fried bread” goes great with it. The bread is deep fried and rubbed with garlic and cheese.

Best souvenir to bring home is a piece of amber. The jewelry is gorgeous. Amber comes from the sap of a tree and if you are lucky, you might even find one with a bug inside.

Vilnius is very westernized and most everything is available. Povilas Vanagas and Margarita Drobiazko have a show there yearly. The event is very well attended and the crowd is very enthusiastic!

Lithuania is a beautiful country.
